Kendrapada, Sept. 8 -- A 17-year-old girl, who had been staying at a shelter home in Odisha's Kendrapada district for nearly three years, was found to be four months pregnant after returning home, prompting police to detain two persons associated with the facility.
The incident has raised serious concerns over the safety, supervision and accountability of child protection institutions.
The girl, a native of Jharkhand, had been staying at the shelter home under the jurisdiction of Kendrapada Sadar police for the past three years.
