Nashik, Aug. 24 -- India's 16-year-old open-water swimmer Divya Mahajan has scripted history by becoming the world's youngest female swimmer to cross the North Channel, a challenging stretch of water between Northern Ireland and southwestern Scotland.
Divya began her swim from Donaghadee in Northern Ireland at 6:10 a.m. on August 23 and reached Portpatrick in Scotland at around 10 p.m. She covered approximately 35 kilometres in 15 hours and 50 minutes, swimming continuously through extremely cold waters.
