Bhubaneswar, July 9 -- Mahanadi Coalfields Limited (MCL) has earned star ratings for 14 of its coal mines in the Ministry of Coal's Star Rating assessment for 2024-25, underscoring its commitment to operational excellence, safety, environmental sustainability and responsible mining.
The Ministry of Coal has awarded Star Ratings to 12 opencast mines and two underground mines of MCL.
According to MCL sources, five opencast mines,Lajkura OCP, Siarmal OCP, Ananta OCP, Lingaraj OCP and Samleshwari OCP,along with the Hirakhand Bundia Underground mine have received the coveted 5-Star Rating.
