Missouri (US), June 15 -- Twelve people lost their lives after a plane being used for a skydiving operation crashed into a field in Missouri shortly after taking off, authorities said.
The aircraft went down around 11:30 am CST after departing Butler Memorial Airport in Bates County, about 60 miles from Kansas City, according to Sheriff Chad Anderson. All 11 passengers and the pilot on board died on Sunday.
The flight was connected to a skydiving business, with Skydive Kansas City confirming its involvement, CNN reported. Some family members were reportedly present and witnessed the crash, officials said.
