Prayagraj, Aug. 31 -- At least 11 people were killed, and 15 others were injured in a massive explosion in a fireworks factory in Mohammadpur village of Kaushambi district on the Prayagraj border in Uttar Pradesh on Monday.
According to police, the explosion razed the entire factory while 8 nearby houses within a 100-metre radius were damaged, and three of them were flattened.
The explosion also created tension for the authorities as the spot was just 2 kilometres away from the Manauri airbase of the Indian Air Force.
Kaushambi District Magistrate Amit Pal Sharma has confirmed the death of 11 people, including 4 children, in the explosion.
He said rescue operations were underway, and the guilty people would not be spared.
