Nagpur, Aug. 28 -- : A total of 106 residents of Nagpur stranded in flood-hit Nepal are reported safe and have taken shelter in the Pashupatinath Temple area in Kathmandu, officials said on Friday.
The group was caught in the aftermath of the devastating floods that have disrupted transportation and communication networks in several parts of Nepal.
Following appeals from the stranded travellers and their families, Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis intervened and coordinated with concerned authorities to facilitate their safe return.
The stranded Nagpur residents have since begun their journey back home under the supervision of local authorities and emergency response teams.
