Bhubaneswar, Sept. 3 -- Police in Odisha's Gajapati district seized 105 kg of sandalwood worth around Rs 10 lakh from an auto-rickshaw and arrested three people on the Paralakhemundi-Gunupur road early Thursday.
Acting on a tip-off, Kashinagar police intercepted the auto-rickshaw near Kharada Chhak on SH-4 around 5.30 am. The driver allegedly tried to flee but was apprehended.
The sandalwood, packed in five bags, was recovered during a search of the vehicle. Police also seized the auto-rickshaw, three mobile phones, and Rs 4,000 in cash.
