Ranchi, March 24 -- A 100 MW floating solar power project at Getalsud Dam in Ranchi is nearing completion, with officials expecting it to strengthen power supply in the region.
Union Minister of State for Defence Sanjay Seth met union Minister for New and Renewable Energy Pralhad Joshi in New Delhi and apprised him of the progress of the project.
The project, being developed at an estimated cost of Rs 500 crore over 172 acres, is expected to benefit around one lakh households in Ranchi.
Seth said the proposal for the project was submitted in December 2021 and received approval in March 2022, following which construction work began.
