Manoj BhadraLucknow, Sept. 21 -- With the Uttar Pradesh Assembly elections due early next year, the biennial election to 10 Rajya Sabha seats from the state, scheduled ahead of the polls, is set to be a key contest between the ruling BJP-led NDA and the Opposition, particularly the Samajwadi Party.
The Rajya Sabha elections are expected to be held in October, with the terms of 10 Uttar Pradesh members ending on November 25. The contest will assume added significance as it will take place just months before the Assembly elections, when the parties will be keen to keep their respective camps intact.
