Hyderabad, May 8 -- Police intensified their investigation into the murder of Tanuja, wife of retired IPS officer Vinay Ranjan Ray, at Prashasan Nagar in Jubilee Hills, with ten special teams deployed to trace the accused.

According to police, the accused fled with gold and cash from the house after committing the murder. Investigators found that the suspects travelled in an auto-rickshaw to Nampally railway station and later boarded the Telangana Express.

Police suspect the involvement of a Nepali gang employed at the retired IPS officer's residence. Tanuja was allegedly murdered in the early hours of Thursday after the accused stuffed cloth into her mouth, leading to asphyxiation.
