New Delhi, July 27 -- A thought-provoking cultural presentation, "Rangalayer Rabi", revisited Rabindranath Tagore's complex engagement with Bengali public theatre, offering audiences an exploration of the historical, artistic and social forces that shaped the staging of his literary works.
Conceived by Prakriti Mukhopadhyay, the production sought to trace how Tagore's literary creations travelled from the page to the commercial stage. Combining narration with music, it featured backstage stories and songs from nearly 25 theatrical adaptations based on Tagore's plays, stories, novels and poems.
