New Delhi, Aug. 7 -- India on Friday described the safety and security of its seafarers and commercial vessels a matter of the "highest priority" after an Indian-flagged commercial vessel sank in the Red Sea off Yemen earlier this week, reiterating its call for "safe and unimpeded navigation" through international waterways and urging all parties not to target civilian ships.
Strongly condemning the recent attacks on several maritime vessels in the Strait of Hormuz, India has called for restoration of unimpeded navigation and trade through international waterways in the region.
