Hyderabad, Feb. 27 -- In a first-of-its-kind initiative in the country, "GI on Wheels", a programme aimed at promoting Telangana's Geographical Indication (GI)-tagged art forms through public transport, was launched at the Mahatma Gandhi Bus Station (MGBS) here on Friday.
The initiative was formally flagged off by Governor Jishnu Dev Varma in the presence of Transport and BC Welfare Minister Ponnam Prabhakar.
Addressing the gathering, the Governor said the main objective of the initiative was to create public awareness about GI-tagged art forms and promote Telangana's rich cultural heritage.
