Muskan BhatiaNew Delhi, July 25 -- Celebration, relief and a sense of vindication defined the mood at Jantar Mantar on Saturday after union Education Minister Dharmendra Pradhan resigned, prompting the Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) to eventually withdraw its month-long agitation after the government accepted all of the party's demands.
As word of Pradhan's resignation spread through the protest site, thousands of demonstrators erupted in cheers, waving the Tricolour, embracing one another and raising slogans of "Cockroach has won, democracy has won" and "Samvidhan zindabad."Many held up copies of the Constitution, which had become a recurring symbol throughout the agitation.
