Dhaka, May 20 -- A young man who was shot allegedly by members of a "teen gang" in Dhaka's Lalbagh area last week died while undergoing treatment at Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) on Wednesday.

Victim Md Rafi Hossain, 26, was a resident of Shaheed Nagar in Lalbagh.

Inspector Md Faruk, in-charge of the DMCH police camp, said Rafi succumbed to his injuries in the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) in the morning. He had been admitted to the hospital with bullet wounds on May 14.

Following legal procedures, the body was sent to the DMCH morgue for an autopsy, he added.

Earlier, the incident took place around 8:15pm on May 14 in the third alley of Shaheed Nagar.
