Dhaka, July 21 -- A young man was hacked to death allegedly over previous enmity in the capital's Sabujbagh area on Tuesday night.

The deceased was identified as Palash, 34, son of Abul Kashem of Sonapur village in Raipur upazila of Lakshmipur. He had been living with his family in the Madartek area of Sabujbagh and worked as a private car driver.

Hira, a neighbour who took Palash to hospital, said he was sitting at a grocery shop at Rajarbagh Bazar around 8:00pm when a group of 10-12 local men, including individuals identified as Royal, Sabuj and Nayeem, swooped on him with sharp weapons over a previous dispute.
