Bhola, Oct. 18 -- year-old man died at a hospital early Sunday after being beaten by a mob following an alleged attack on a BNP leader in Bhola.

The deceased was identified as Asif, son of Dalu Mia of Razapur in the upazila.

Earlier on Saturday, Hossain Manager, president of ward No. 7 unit of BNP in Razapur union, was seriously injured as Asif stabbed him indiscriminately over previous enmity in the Anandabazar area.

After news of the attack spread, angry local people beat Asif, leaving him seriously injured.

On information, police rushed to the spot, rescued him and took him to Bhola 250-bed General Hospital where he succumbed to his injuries in the early hours of Sunday.

Hossain is now undergoing treatment at a hospital in Dhaka....
