, Sept. 29 -- Bangladesh's Permanent Representative to the United Nations Ambassador Irene Khan has said 25 years after the adoption of the Durban Declaration and Programme of Action (DDPA), the world remains far from fulfilling its promise that no one should face discrimination based on race, colour, descent or national or ethnic origin.

Speaking at the UN high-level event on September 28 marking the 25th anniversary of the DDPA, Ambassador Khan reaffirmed Bangladesh's commitment to its full and effective implementation.
