Dhaka, Aug. 9 -- A housewife was allegedly strangled to death following a family dispute in the capital's Gulbagh area under Shahjahanpur Police Station on Sunday.

The deceased was identified as Swapna Khatun, 25, from Tilatia village in Phulpur upazila of Mymensingh. Her husband, Rubel Mia, is from the Sandia area under Mymensingh Sadar Police Station.

Police arrested Rubel in connection with the incident, said SI Md Obaidul of Shahjahanpur Police Station on Sunday night.

The police officer said Swapna was allegedly strangled to death following a family dispute. A murder case has been filed with Shahjahanpur Police Station in connection with the incident.
