Chapainawabganj, Oct. 4 -- A woman died after allegedly being stabbed by her stepson following a family dispute in Bholahat upazila of Chapainawabganj on Saturday evening.

The deceased was identified as Ayesha Begum, 35, wife of Babul Hossain, a resident of the area.

The incident occurred in the Dharampur area of Jambaria Union in the upazila.

Locals said that during a family dispute, Ayesha's stepson Ashiqur Rahman allegedly stabbed her several times with a knife, leaving her seriously injured.

Neighbours rescued the critically injured Ayesha and rushed her to Shibganj Upazila Health Complex, where doctor Dr Mohin declared her dead upon arrival.
