Shariatpur, July 28 -- Miscreants have reportedly gang-raped a woman after tying her husband up in an orchard of Achura village in Naria upazila of Shariatpur district.

Police arrested three people from the village early Tuesday in connection with the incident that took place on Monday night.

The arrestees were identified as Md Rabbi, 28, son of Alamgir Bepari, Emon Khandaker, 26, son of Malek Khandaker, of Achura village, and Ali Khandaker, 42, son of Abdul Hye Khandaker of Atipara village of Sadar upazila.

Police said accused Hazrat Ali called the victim's husband to the orchard of Aziz Dhali in the village around 9:30pm over the phone.
