Dhaka, Sept. 30 -- Police recovered the hanging body of a 33-year-old woman from a rented home in the capital's Demra area on Tuesday, 23 days after she married a friend of her former husband.

The deceased was identified as Sumaiya Akter Lucky, daughter of Lakkhan Talukder of Haripur in Jaintapur upazila of Sylhet.

Md Saidul Haque, sub-inspector (SI) of Demra Police Station, said police suspect that Lucky committed suicide after hanging herself with a scarf in a room on the balcony sometime between 3:00am and 5:00am on Tuesday following a family dispute.

"On information, police recovered the body around 11:00am on Tuesday and sent it to the morgue of Dhaka Medical College Hospital on Wednesday morning for autopsy.
