Cumilla, Sept. 14 -- Two people, including an elderly woman, were killed in an attack over a property dispute at Daranipara village in Muradnagar upazila of Cumilla district on Monday evening.

The deceased were identified as Khaleda Akter, 70, daughter of Jasim Uddin, and her nephew Manjurul Alam Titu, 36, son of Bachchu Miah, of the village under Babutipara union.

According to locals, Khaleda and Bachchu had been in a dispute with their other brother Abu Mia over the share of ancestral land.

They got into an argument over the land on Monday evening.

At one point, Abu Mia allegedly attacked Khaleda and Titu with a sharp weapon and hacked them indiscriminately, leaving them critically injured.
