Dhaka, Aug. 19 -- Police on Wednesday arrested the driver of a covered van three days after it ran over and killed an Independent University, Bangladesh (IUB) student in the capital's Sher-e-Bangla Nagar area.

The arrestee was identified as Md Limon Khan, 26.

A team of Sher-e-Bangla Nagar Police Station arrested Limon from the Kuril Biswa Road area around 2:20pm.

Police also seized the covered van involved in the incident from the Sat Masjid area in Mohammadpur.

According to police, the victim, Oli Nur Mahmud, 23, a fourth-year BBA student at IUB, was travelling by motorcycle on August 16.
