Barishal, Nov. 8 -- A joint convener of Uzirpur Municipality Swecchasebak Dal, the BNP's volunteers' front, has been expelled from the organisation following his arrest over allegations of secretly filming women in their homes in Uzirpur upazila of Barishal.

The accused, Bayezid Mithu, was caught trying to record a woman's private moments through a bathroom ventilator in the municipal area on Saturday night. Local people detained him, beat him up and handed him over to police.

Police subsequently filed a case against him under the Pornography Control Act and sent him to jail through a court on Sunday afternoon.
