Dhaka, March 15 -- British High Commissioner to Bangladesh Sarah Cooke has said the United Kingdom looks forward to working closely with the new government and with all Bangladeshis on their shared priorities as the country moves forward.

"A peaceful, democratic, and prosperous Bangladesh is in all our interests," she said while speaking at a Iftar reception at her residence recently.

The UK is now the global co-chair of the Media Freedom Coalition.
