, March 17 -- The Cabinet on Tuesday approved proposals to convert two ordinances related to the supplementary budget for FY 2024-25 and the main budget for FY 2025-26 into law.

The decision was taken at the Cabinet's third meeting held at the Secretariat under the chairmanship of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman, Cabinet Secretary Nasimul Ghani told reporters after the meeting.

The Cabinet approved the proposal to enact the 'Specification (Supplementary) Ordinance, 2025' pertaining to the FY 2024-25 supplementary budget. According to Article 91 of the Constitution, if approved expenditure in a fiscal year is insufficient or exceeds the allocated limit, a supplementary financial statement must be presented to Parliament.
