Kurigram, May 23 -- Police detained two people and recovered around 8kg of Indian cannabis and 193 yaba tablets in two separate anti-drug drives conducted under Kochakata Police Station in Kurigram's Nageshwari upazila.

The detainees are Sujon Mia, 23, a resident of Shovar Kuthi village in the Kochakata area of the upazila, and Monnaf, 36.

Kochakata Police Station said the special anti-drug drives were conducted in the morning in the presence of Assistant Superintendent of Police Muntasir Mamun Mun and Officer-in-Charge (OC) Arpan Kumar Das.
