Chandpur, Sept. 1 -- Two friends were killed after a speeding truck ran over their motorbike on the Chattogram-Cox's Bazar highway in Lohagara area of Chattogram on Tuesday morning.

The deceased were identified as Mahi Patwari, 20, son of businessman Mizanur Rahman Patwari of Saharpar village near Rahimanagar Bazar in Gohat South Union of Kachua upazila, and Firoz Ahmed alias Towhid, 22, son of auto-rickshaw driver Monir Hossain of the same area.

They were travelling to Cox's Bazar on a motorbike when the accident occurred, said Azizul Islam, officer-in-charge of Kachua Police Station.
