Dhaka, May 29 -- Two regional officials of Dhaka North City Corporation (DNCC) and Dhaka South City Corporation (DSCC) were suspended on Friday on the orders of Prime Minister Tarique Rahman over negligence in removing sacrificial waste in several parts of the capital on Eid day.

The Prime Minister ordered action after personally visiting different areas of the capital to inspect the progress of sacrificial waste removal activities following Eid-ul-Azha, said State Minister for Local Government, Rural Development and Co-operatives Mir Shahe Alam.

He said the Prime Minister also directed the authorities to take departmental action against the officials concerned.
