, May 24 -- Export and import activities through the Burimari land port in Lalmonirhat district will remain suspended for eight days from May 25 (Monday) on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha.

The trade suspension will continue until June 1, while port operations will resume on June 2, said Faruk Hossain, president of the Burimari C&F Agents Association.

The decision was taken at a joint meeting held between traders' organisations of Burimari land port in Bangladesh and Changrabandha land port in India to finalise the holiday schedule, he said.

However, passenger movement for passport holders will remain normal during the holiday period, said Burimari Immigration Sub-Inspector Saifur Rahman.
