Dhaka, Aug. 2 -- Tensions flared at Dhaka University's Dr. Muhammad Shahidullah Hall on Sunday as activists of the Jatiyatabadi Chhatra Dal (JCD) and Islami Chhatra Shibir engaged in a scuffle over the administration's handling of an alleged same-sex incident involving in the room of the hall's Assistant General Secretary (AGS), Ibrahim Khalil, also a Shibir activist.

The confrontation took place outside the provost's office during a meeting of an investigation committee formed after videos circulated on social media allegedly showing two outsiders in what was described as a "compromising situation" inside the AGS's room.
