Rajshahi, Oct. 20 -- Prime Minister Tarique Rahman left here for Chattogram by military aircraft on Tuesday evening after completing his daylong visits to Rangpur and Rajshahi.

He departed from Shah Makhdum Airport in Rajshahi for Chattogram at 6:30pm, according to Prime Minister's Assistant Press Secretary Abdullah Al Mahmud Shahriar.

The Prime Minister visited puja mandaps and exchanged greetings with members of the Hindu community in Rangpur and Rajshahi on the occasion of Durga Puja.

This was the first time in Bangladesh that a head of government visited puja mandaps outside Dhaka during the biggest religious festival of the Hindu community.
