Dhaka, Aug. 6 -- A suspended accounts officer of Gazipur City Corporation (GCC) died after falling from the 7th floor of a residential building in the capital's Ramna area early Thursday while allegedly attempting to evade arrest during a police operation.

The deceased was identified as Md Nazrul Islam, 56, who lived with his family in Flat B-8 of Rangs Garden Palace on the Siddheswari Road.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Ramna Police Station Yasin Mia said police went to Nazrul's residence to execute an arrest warrant issued by the Gazipur District and Sessions Judge's Court.
