, March 7 -- A street boy was killed after being attacked with a piece of glass during a dispute over drug use in the capital's Tejgaon area on Friday night.

The victim, identified as Moyejul alias Kalu, 16, was taken to Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) around 9:45 pm in a critically injured condition, where doctors on duty declared him dead.

According to Amin, a friend of the victim, the altercation took place near the rail crossing in front of Hotel Sheraton, where several street children had gathered. At one stage, a quarrel broke out between Moyejul and another street boy, Hamidul, over drug use.
