Sangsad Bhaban, April 28 -- Home Minister Salahuddin Ahmed on Tuesday said the government has undertaken a series of people-friendly measures to eliminate mob violence and extortion across the country.

Responding to a starred question from ruling party lawmaker elected from Pabna-5 Shamsur Rahman Shimul Biswas in Parliament, Salahuddin said law enforcement agencies - particularly Bangladesh Police - have intensified their efforts to bring those involved in such crimes to justice.
