, April 10 -- At least 15 people, including a child, were injured in a stampede during a qulkhani (Quran recitation and condolence gathering) in Madhabdi area of Narsingdi Sadar on Friday.

The incident occurred after Friday prayers at Bhogirathpur village when large crowds gathered at the Bhogirathpur Haji Lal Mia Mollah High School field for the religious programme.

Locals said around 8,000 to 10,000 people assembled at the venue. As the school gate was opened after Jummah prayers, attendees rushed inside, triggering a sudden stampede at the entrance.
