Magura, Sept. 11 -- year-old Secondary School Certificate (SSC) examinee allegedly committed suicide after failing the examination even after applying for re-evaluation of her English answer scripts at Baharbagh village in Magura Sadar upazila.

The victim, Fahmida, was the daughter of Ilias Hossain of the village and a student of Baharbagh Secondary School.

Relatives said Fahmida failed the recent SSC examination after obtaining a combined total of 64 marks in English First and Second papers.

She subsequently applied for re-evaluation of her English answer scripts. However, the revised results showed that she still failed the subject.
