Speaker expresses concern over no-show MPs, urges strict adherence to speaking schedule
Sangsad Bhaban, June 28 -- Speaker Hafiz Uddin Ahmad on Sunday urged Members of Parliament to remain prepared for their scheduled speeches and strictly adhere to their allotted time as the House entered the final stage of discussions on the proposed national budget for the 2026-27 fiscal year.
Expressing concern over the absence of listed speakers when their names were called, the Speaker urged Chief Whip Nurul Islam Moni to ensure that MPs receive advance notice before their turn to speak.
"There is a list, yet when members are called, they are not present. Please give them an early warning so they remain prepared," the Speaker said.
Addressing lawmakers, he also appealed to them to conclude their speeches within the allocated time.
