Dhaka, June 21 -- Water levels in the Teesta, Dharla and Dudhkumar rivers have risen significantly over the past 24 hours and are likely to continue increasing over the next three days, raising fears of short-term flooding in several districts of Rangpur Division, according to the bulletin of Flood Forecasting and Warning Centre (FFWC).

Besides, the water levels of the Surma and Kushiyara rivers in the north-eastern region have increased and may continue to rise over the next 3 days.

During this period, these rivers may flow above the danger level in Sylhet and Sunamganj districts, and a short-term flood situation may develop in adjacent low-lying areas.
