Dhaka, July 4 -- State Minister for Local Government and Rural Development (LGRD) Mir Shahe Alam on Saturday visited the Rajabari-Damdama road in Sreepur upazila of Gazipur following directives from Prime Minister Tarique Rahman after a section of the newly constructed road collapsed within months of its completion.

The damage of nearly one-kilometre stretch of the road, built at a cost of around Tk nine crore, sparked widespread criticism over the quality of the construction works.
