Dhaka, Aug. 9 -- More than 380,000 people across eight regions of the Philippines have been affected by severe weather caused by the enhanced southwest monsoon and tropical cyclones, according to official reports on Sunday.

The Philippine News Agency reported that at least 110,000 families have been affected by the weather disturbances, while the death toll remained at six. Seven people were also injured.

The severe weather damaged 148 houses, including 138 partially damaged and 10 completely destroyed, the reports said.

Of the six deaths, two were caused by landslides triggered by heavy rain, while two others resulted from rockslides. The remaining two deaths were caused by drowning and electrocution, respectively.
