Rohingya genocide case: ICJ verdict expected in October
, Aug. 28 -- The International Court of Justice (ICJ) is expected to deliver its verdict in the case concerning the genocide against the Rohingya in Myanmar in October, 2026, Gambia's Attorney General and Minister of Justice Dawda A. Jallow has said.
He conveyed the expected timeline during a meeting with Bangladesh's State Minister for Foreign Affairs Humaiun Kobir on the sidelines of the 23rd OIC Extraordinary Council of Foreign Ministers meeting in Jeddah on Thursday.
He noted that the verdict on accountability for the atrocities committed against the Rohingyas would play a critical role in finding a sustainable solution to the Rohingya crisis.
