Repair work begins on flood-damaged Dahagram-Angarpota road in Lalmonirhat after BGB steps in
Lalmonirhat, Aug. 7 -- damaged Dahagram-Angarpota main road in Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat began on Friday after the Border Guard Bangladesh (BGB) facilitated the entry of trucks carrying construction materials through the Tin Bigha Corridor.
Osman Gani, Sub-Assistant Engineer (SAE) of the Lalmonirhat Roads and Highways Department, said repair work began on Friday morning.
Earlier on Thursday morning, a large section of the paved road in the Srishtiyarpar area collapsed after floodwaters triggered by a surge in the Teesta River from upstream in India washed away part of the road.
The damage left a 10-foot-deep crater, cutting off communication for at least 2,000 families.
