Dhaka, May 21 -- Law, Justice and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Md Asaduzzaman has directed the Commissioner of Dhaka Metropolitan Police (DMP) to submit the probe report within one week over the brutal rape and murder of eight-year-old child Ramisa Akter at Pallabi.

The information was revealed in a statement issued by the ministry on Thursday.

According to the statement, the minister instructed the authorities concerned to ensure a prompt investigation into the case.

He also said appropriate steps will be taken to complete the trial proceedings of the murder case in the shortest possible time.

Ramisa, a Class-II student, was slaughtered by a tenant of their next-door flat at Pallabi in the capital on Tuesday.
