Sirajganj, Sept. 2 -- Members of Rapid Action Battalion (RAB)-12 arrested a fugitive accused in a murder case during a raid in the Soydabad area of Sirajganj Sadar upazila on Tuesday evening.

The arrestee was identified as Md Shafiqul Islam Shafi, 40, son of late Shukur Sheikh of Paikpara village in the upazila.

RAB-12 Company Commander Major Tabrez Tajwar Sharif confirmed the arrest in a press release.

According to the release, Shafiqul had allegedly been threatening to kill Nazrul Islam, 55, son of Md Abdul Gafur of Banbaria Purba Para (Adarshagram) village, after being released on bail from jail in an earlier case related to providing information to police.
