, May 16 -- Russian President Vladimir Putin will travel to China next week for a two-day visit to meet Chinese President Xi Jinping, the Kremlin said on Saturday.

The visit, scheduled for May 19-20, comes just a day after US President Donald Trump concluded his state visit to Beijing, where he also held talks with Xi on trade and the ongoing war involving the US, Israel and Iran.

According to the Kremlin, Putin's trip marks the 25th anniversary of the 2001 Sino-Russian Treaty of Friendship. The two leaders are expected to discuss bilateral ties, economic cooperation and major regional and international issues.
