Dhaka, March 9 -- Dr FM Siddiqui has been appointed Vice-Chancellor of Bangladesh Medical University.

The appointment was made through a notification issued on Monday by the Health Education and Family Welfare Division by order of the President.

Prof Siddiqui is a medicine and chest diseases specialist and a former professor of the Medicine Department at Dhaka Medical College Hospital.

According to the notification, FM Siddiqui's tenure as Vice-Chancellor will be four years.

However, the President, who is also the Chancellor of the university, may cancel the appointment at any time if necessary.
