Dhaka, Aug. 23 -- New President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir moved to Bangabhaban and began his official activities there on Sunday for the first time since taking oath as the head of state.

The President arrived at Bangabhaban at 11:00am, where a smartly dressed mounted police contingent welcomed him at Gate-2.

Later, a smartly turned-out contingent of the President Guard Regiment (PGR) accorded him a guard of honour at the Credential Field.
