Dhaka, Oct. 14 -- President Mirza Fakhrul Islam Alamgir has expressed deep shock and sorrow over the death of former MP Salahuddin Ahmed, who died at a hospital in the capital on Tuesday night.

In a condolence message on Wednesday, the President prayed for the eternal peace of the departed soul and conveyed his deepest sympathy to the bereaved family.

Salahuddin, BNP commerce affairs secretary, breathed his last at Evercare Hospital Dhaka at 8:10pm on Tuesday, said his son Tanvir Ahmed Robin, member secretary of Dhaka South City BNP.
